I spent August traveling between Phoenix, Newark and New York. It was awesome to say the least.
I get most of my inspiration for my art from nature. The colours and textures are a driving force behind my approach. I was so drawn to the landscape and beauty of Arizona. I love the dry heat, the saguaro cacti.... the list goes on. The icing on the cake for me though was visiting the grand canyon. You can't out-artist that Artist, for sure! The colours, texture and environment made me feel alive. It's was a very spiritual experience for me. It's definitely bucket list worthy.
So it's been a while since I've posted anything via my blog. In addition to being marginally wotless, I sometimes need to get inspired to write things. But then I realised that I have so much to write about recently! I've been working on two projects side by side, my new jewellery (I'll post separately on this one) and also my Out of the Darkness series.
Those who are familiar with my art know that I love to paint big pieces. I find it quite rewarding. However, recently I've embarked on a minis project and I love it! It's like turning a shrink ray on my pieces.
This month, I had the privilege of exhibiting a few works with renowned and established artists like Kenwyn Crichlow, Jackie Hinkson, Michelle Boyd and Michelle Tappin. The beautiful work of fellow emerging artist Wesley Kanhai was also on show.
Welcome to my new blog. I had been on tumblr for a while now, but I feel that I've outgrown it.
